Wild Child – Expressive Outdoor Portraits

h2 (1)

I have to admit that I am a little allergic to working in a studio, and shooting “perfect portraits” of people in extremely clean clothes, and (sometimes) fake smiles…Good thing I can choose to not do that, because I LOVE shooting portraits outdoors. If there’s children, or animals involved, I love playing with them, and press the shutter button when they least expect it. That’s something I am very passionate about. Maybe it’s the child in me that loves playing so much?

I took these photos yesterday when my daughter and I was exploring the high desert in Lyon County, Nevada.

Exploring is one of our favorite things to do together. It is exciting to see the world through the eyes of a child. Especially now that my daughter talks all the time. I usually take advantage of our one and one time by speaking Swedish to her. I would like her to be able to speak well both in English, and Swedish. While doing fun stuff together, learning new words feels less like hard work, and more like a fun game.

I hope YOU are having a great day today!
