MJP Gratitude Challenge

Every Saturday I host a gratitude challenge. I share something that I am grateful for, and encourage you to do the same!

Spring is just around the corner, and today I’m grateful for the expectation that lingers in the air. The wind is hollering around the house, screaming it’s fury in a raging storm. It’s been a rainy, and windy week. Every once in a while I enjoy a good storm! It makes my senses come alive, and my brain is going haywire, exploding with ideas. It’s like the wind releases lots of extra energy. Too much, too often, and I couldn’t take it. Every once in a while, it’s perfect! Exactly what I need to get going.

My daughter and I, enjoyed many long walks along the Sacramento River this past week. The wind, and the rain kept most people inside. I thoroughly enjoyed the solitude.

I’m also grateful for an unplanned road trip to Oregon that we made earlier this week. The weather was exactly the same, windy and rainy. Still it was revitalizing to see the beautiful landscape of the Oregon countryside. Road trips always brings me great joy. New sceneries, are inspiration for life.

For some reason this road trip made me start thinking about what I want to do about growing a garden this year. It was probably the ultra green landscape that surrounded us the whole way, during our drive on the I-5, from Redding (CA,) to Eugene (OR.) I know they’ve had a lot of rain, and it showed. It was so green and lush. Almost like a rain forest. (I promise to share the photos later.) I still haven’t decided what to do about a garden project. I’m researching different alternatives. I’ll have to decide, and start the project, within a couple weeks. I’m not an expert gardener by any means, but I enjoy growing vegetables. One day I would like to grow most of our food myself. It’s not going to be this year. I want to own the land myself, before investing that much in a big project. There’s still a lot that can be done on a smaller scale. My daughter loves gardening as well. I’m trying to involve her as much as possible. The expectations of a new season, spring, is something I am most grateful to experience once again.

I hope that your week have been filled with good things. I would love it, if you would join my Gratitude Challenge! Write about something you are grateful for, tag your post MJP Gratitude Challenge, and share a link in the comments below. I always re-blog some of the posts that I see every week, so please show me your gratitude!

Have an amazing Saturday!

  1. Lovely image, Maria. It has the feeling of deep thought and inspiration. We just bought two beautiful raised beds, they are rectangle at the top but go into a triangle shape at the base, this allows us to grow deeper rooted things in the center of the bed and shorter rooted plants at the perimeter. I can’t wait to get planting in the next couple weeks. My boys love to garden too and I didn’t want too much to have to tend, they look beautiful too. It is called a VegTrug.

  2. Vi har vind och snöblandat regn i Weed idag. Och sommartiden kommer i natt. 🙂
Du passerade genom Weed antar jag? 🙂 Kul med roadtrip.
Spännande det låter att kunna odla grönsaker och annat gott.
