pfm4June 6th is the National Day of Sweden, my home country. It’s a national holiday, and people don’t work today. Gustav Vasa, one of our greatest king was crowned as king June 6th, 1523. He was an important king who laid the foundation of Sweden as an independent country. In honor to his crowning, an important constitution was adopted on the same day, 300 years later, 1809. June 6th became a day of celebration!

Photos from my last home in Sweden, before moving to California, 5years ago.

Thanks for celebrating with me! I hope you’re having an awesome day!

Love & Light, Always

  1. And I think that the reasons for celebrating June 6 are still a bit “muddy” for a lot of Swedes.
And for someone like me who moved from Sweden before this was a national holiday, it is even more “muddy.” 😉
I remember seeing those pictures of your Swedish home quite some time ago when I first found your blog. 🙂
    Hugs from your fellow Swede!

    • Yes, I think we could spend a little more time being proud of our country, and it’s history in Sweden. Seeing how important 4th of July is to the public here, it’s almost embarrassing..
Hugs, and I hope you had a great day yesterday ❤

  2. It is a very good and historical day of your country! It’s very important to celebrate it! I have never been to Sweden, but your country attracts my attention, it’s so well-developed and beautiful, I’d love to get to know more about it! I know you miss your country a lot, I do travel often and life makes me choose where to live, my choice can be a bit tricky, I don’t know how I can live far from my country, I have goose skin from being afraid!

    • Yes, it’s an important day 🙂 Sweden is very beautiful. What I miss the most is probably that it’s so clean, and silent compared to many parts of the US. Even though I miss it from time to time, a lot, I’m starting to feel that this is my home now. I don’t know how I would feel if I’d actually went back, it’s been so long. It’s a new feeling, but a few months ago I’d realized that I don’t feel a need to go anywhere right now, (including back to Sweden. ) I don’t remember feeling this calm inside before. I’ve always enjoyed traveling a lot. Now I only feel like making shorter trips around here. I kind of like the feeling 🙂 I hope you’re having a great day!
