Peaceful Fall

I love fall. I think it’s a magical season! The expectations of upcoming holidays, good times with family and friends, and the spectacular changes of nature. Last Friday I did a work related road trip to McArthur, in Northern California. We literally drove up into the clouds as we gained elevation. The landscape took us through a fairytale like fog. Even though I have driven this particular road (299) more times than I can count, the swindling mountain road still takes my breath away. There are many places to stop and enjoy the view of the canyons below. I love driving down country roads. The change of environment, the new landscape, and fresh air puts things in perspective, and make me feel grateful to be alive. The countryside always deliver a sense of peace to me. Does it do the same for you? Or do you prefer to enjoy fall closer to the fun in the city?

I hope you had a chance to enjoy the magic of this season this weekend πŸ™‚

  1. The word “Fall” is much more poetic than “Autumn” which is for me more orientated towards grey sky and rain… The thing is that in Europe, there’s not quite the same variety of trees than in Northern America, which explains that the scenery is less colorful here… Well, “c’est la vie”… πŸ™‚

  2. A lovely photograph! For us, we’re in the city for work (and we live in a pleasant enough city) but it’s the outdoors that calls. We’re lucky to be able to be on the prairies or in the mountains very quickly, so until retirement (!) it’s the best of both worlds!

    • You are blessed! I love tagging along on your weekend getaway adventures. Your photos are always fabulous, something I really appreciate, AND I believe your writing has something important to tell people that might find it difficult to get out there, that it can be rather easy, and do not always require a lot of time and planning. You are very good at delivering the value of spending time in nature. That’s one of the things I like the most about your blog.

Loving it? Or not? Let me know!
