Carefree – Right Here, Right Now

b-1

I love taking morning walks with my daughter. It feels good to get exercise in the morning, and when you’re taking a walk with a 4 year old, you’re forced to be mindful. Many stops is an essential part of the adventure. Admiring the view, looking at animals, identifying the shapes of clouds (a dog, a dinosaur etc,) feeling the wind, smelling different scents, jumping in some muddy puddles..it’s all part of it. Every minute I spend in nature with my little girl is very valuable to me. There is no price tag on this, and this special time will not return. It’s true that every time is special with a child, and in life in general, but I am surely very grateful for this time. Right here, right now.

The best way to capture moments is to pay attention. This is how we cultivate mindfulness. Mindfulness means being awake. It means knowing what you are doing.

Right here, right now, is a priority for me. It’s a priority to spend as much time as possible with my daughter, in a positive nurturing environment, where she can thrive and develop her self according to her interests. I don’t believe there is a one size fits all model for parenting. Or for life. I do however believe that it is my responsibility to live fully present, enjoying right here, right now. For my daughter, and for myself. Life is in this moment.

Tell me your thoughts below!

Yours,

Maria

  1. I totally agree, live in the moment and love every second. Our children grow up way to fast, it seems like only yesterday that my first baby was born, now she is twenty and the youngest is now 10, how times flies, but every single stage is special and walking with them in the country, with the dogs, appreciating the simple things is the most precious gift of all.

  2. I would love to be outside right now, but the truth is we’re having a winter episode here in Arizona. It’s cold and rainy at the moment. The good news is this sort of weather never last very long. But I have to agree with you, taking time to just be and hang out with my little one is a gift. I’m enjoying the extra time we have. As for my older kids, I’m just trying to buckle them down for a minute or two! So enjoy this time. 😊
