My daughter is my biggest achievement. She is a little star and my life has changed so much for the better since she came along. – Denise Van Outen
Not my words, but I can totally relate. Nothing compares to the unexpected gift of being blessed with a fabulous, happy, intelligent daughter. She is definitely the star that makes my sky brighter every day. The sunshine that makes me excited about getting up in the morning.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first light this morning, walking through this walnut groove in northern California. The ambience created by the old crooked trees, the cold winter air, the frozen ground, and the sun conquering the morning inch by inch.
What have you photographed with exceptional ambience? Perhaps you’ve visited a spectacular garden, indulged in a candlelit dinner, experienced a roaring fireplace on a cold night, or enjoyed some laughter with friends in a wonderful place?
Join the weekly photo challenge Ambience! Feel free to post a link to your post in a comment. I’m trying to check out as many entries as possible. It’s always so inspiring to see many different takes on the same theme.
It’s another one of those much appreciated (because of the drought,) rainy days in Northern California. I’m editing photos from my recent trip to San Francisco. The scents of the chile cooking on the stove, starts to spread throughout the house. It’s a pretty good day 🙂 How is your day? What’s the weather like?
The rain, and storm around me, inspired some black and white edits today. Like this one of the Golden Gate Bridge. I think this is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. As I think San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities. The vibe that generates from the mix of green parks, water, and beautiful buildings reminds me a lot about Gothenburg (Sweden,) where I spent around 10 years. For someone like me, that appreciate the countryside more than the city on any given day, this is one of the few cities that I actually enjoy spending time in. Mostly because of the beautiful nature that surround the city. While taking this photo, at a typical tourist spot, I had miles, and miles of amazing hiking trails behind my back. That is diversity that I appreciate!
The weekly photo challenge at The Daily Post is about capturingTime this week. Becoming a parent is definitely something that made me aware of time. My daughter is not yet 4 years old, but it felt like a lifetime ago since I held her in my arms for the first time, and at the same time it feels like yesterday. If you have children, I’m sure you can relate to this.
Today my daughter and I both got haircuts, and it was the first time she actually enjoyed the process. Previously she’s been making a scene every time..not today. Definitely screamed selfie time! My little girl is so big now, all of a sudden.
This is my attempt to picture Time. For more awesome entries visit The Daily Post.
We went on a spur of the moment trip, to the old mining town Virginia City (NV,) last night. You know the famous, wild town from the TV series Bonanza?
It wasn’t my first time there, but the first time during winter, and the first time when I actually could see something. Funny thing, since it was night..but the streets of this beautiful little town are usually crowded with tourists. A cold December night turned out to be a great time to visit!
I really wanted to share a couple photos from last night. I can recommend a visit, if you want to experience the Wild West up close and personal. Most of these bars are actually open, and you can enjoy a beer, and some really good food in Virginia City. Just watch out for the wild horses on the road, while driving up there!
I hope you had an awesome weekend!
PS. I just noticed that, as of today, there’s 899 amazing people following this blog! Since I just started this blog, this makes me very happy! Thank you! …and would you maybe consider helping me reach 1000 followers?
